Front Bumper
The front bumper is an active system - it is an angled platform that rotates around a shaft on the third level of our robot. When the bumper is depressed via contact on the angle surface, two things happen. First, a bump sensor is triggered, informing our software that we are either pushing or being pushed. Second, the angled surface translates the force downwards, effectively increasing the load (and therefore traction) on our wheels.
